Inside Gate Petroleum's New C-Store Design
By Steve Holtz on Jan. 16, 2019JACKSONVILLE BEACH, Fla. -- With a new store design in place, Gate convenience stores is bringing foodservice to its customers is familiar ways--roller grill, packaged sandwiches and bakery--and few unique ways that the chain hopes will set it apart.
"The store design features Gate’s Fresh Kitchen. This location also serves Yobe frozen yogurt with a toppings bar," Misty Skipper, vice president of marketing, communications and government affairs for the Jacksonville, Fla.-based chain told CSP Daily News. This site "also serves as a test market for new cold-brew and nitro coffee products."

Gate offers both Coke and Pepsi products on two fountain machines.
Self-serve foodservice options include fresh bakery, packaged sandwiches, roller-grill items and frozen yogurt.
A grab-and-go food cooler anchors the center of the store to let customers know Gate is in the foodservice business. The open-air cooler offers packaged sandwiches, fruit and fresh snacks.
The Yobe frozen yogurt section offers nine flavors of yogurt and dozens of topping options at 49 cents per ounce.
The Fresh Kitchen prepares pizza, empanadas, coffee drinks and more.
Gate’s coffee set includes 10 urns in six or more flavors, as well as cappuccino in six flavors and a variety of specialty drinks.
The newest additions to Gate’s Fresh Kitchen include fresh-brewed cold-brew and nitro coffees.
The expansion of Gate’s foodservice offer meant tamales, boiled peanuts and frozen yogurt joined classic c-store fare such as breakfast sandwiches and roller-grill and bakery products.
At the pump, fuel options range from the E85 ethanol blend to ethanol-free fuel for boats and small engines.
